After arriving in Aswan last night we begin today's adventures with
visits to the Aswan High Dam (which I will talk about briefly during my
presentation to our group) and the Temple of Philae. After lunch on board we will
have a short ride on a felucca to sail around Elephantine Island. The
satellite image courtesy of
earthobservatory.nasa.gov shows the Nile River on the North while the huge (and artificial) Lake Nasser lies to the south.
