On the evening of our third day in Egypt our boat "pulled over" for a quick stop at the temple of Kom Ombo which is about 45 km north of Aswan. This temple was unique to our trip because it is a "double" temple, dedicated to the two gods Horus (which you met in an earlier post) and the crocodile god Sobek.
To be honest with you, I was fairly tired when we visited this site so I don't remember to many specifics and didn't take many photographs. I do know that much of the temple has been destroyed by the Nile and earthquakes, or was used in other building project. What I loved about this site was getting to see all of the crocs represented throughout the temple. Also, Gigi pointed out a hieroglyph in the temple of a woman giving birth. Check it out below!
