Running in the Rain

Last Sunday Rob and I along with a group of students from ASCSA took part in the Athens Classic Marathon festivities. No, we didn't run in the marathon, but we did run in the 5K! The weather for the event was terrible, but we both had a blast anyway. Follow the link to the ASCSA web-site for the complete story.

This photo shows some of us the day before the run as we picked up our race materials. You can visit the race website if you're interested in the actual course, but we ran past many significant monuments in Athens including the Parliament building, Acropolis, Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus and the finish line was in the Panathenaic Stadium. Like I said before it rained the entire night prior to the run and it continued to rain on us as we ran, but I think the rain added a bit of fun to our race! Rob and I even stayed in the stadium after our run to watch the conclusion of the marathon. It was amazing to see the speed and endurance of these runners.

  1. Well good to see other people braving the rain too! Ask Jill...we felt like we ran a few marathons in the rain while she was here!
